FAQ

Do I need a partner?

No. Thanks to our registration system we are able to get a fairly good view of the scope of men/woman that will attend the class. This way we can ask our team of ‘spares’ to help during class. Also, our classes are structured so that you dance with everyone, rather than just one person.  This makes the class fun and sociable, plus it makes you a more versatile leader or follower.

What should I wear to class?

Many students dress very casually in jeans or shorts, t-shirts, yoga pants or leggings, and comfortable shoes (no slippers!). Most importantly, wear what you feel comfortable dancing in.

Do I need to buy special shoes?

No, it is not necessary to buy special dance shoes.  However, rubber sole shoes are not recommended because you will stick to the floor. In order to work on the right dance posture, we stimulate ladies to dance in heels. If you decide you want to invest in dance shoes, as you will notice a huge difference in your dancing, your ease to move around, and your ability to spin, please contact us as we can fit you and find you the shoe appropriate for your foot. Dance shoes are highly recommended for the Ladies Styling & Spinning Course and the Intermediate Level Courses.

Are the students all young people?

For the adult classes during the week, our students range from age 18 to adults in their 60s and older. We have special classes for kids, from 8 to 12, and teens from 13 to 18, on Saturdays.

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept cash, personal checks, as well as all debit and credit cards.

Do I have to start on a certain date, or can I start any time?

All courses have a set start date, usually in the first week of every month. Each course consist of 4 classes, once a week, for 1 hour and 15 minutes. It is recommended to pre-register for the courses. Between courses we offer specialty workshops and crash courses for those who are unable to commit to 4 week courses.

How long will it take me to learn?

It depends on how often you come to class and practice. With any activity the more you do something the better you become. The average person (attending class and practicing at least 1 – 2 times a week) should be dancing basic turn patterns within 3 months depending on their natural ability.
